【中国观察北京时间2026年10月18日讯】加拿大总理卡尼表示，亚伯达省（Alberta）韦恩莱特军事基地发生“重大事故”，引发大火，在强风助长下迅速扩散，造成人员死伤。
韦恩莱特市府表示，大火17日稍早已越过基地围篱蔓延至邻近地区，并在强风助长下迅速扩散。多个区域的消防人员正全力控制火势，目前尚未发布疏散命令。
综合媒体报导，卡尼（Mark Carney）在社群媒体发布消息指出，事件发生在亚伯达省首府艾德蒙顿（Edmonton）以东约210公里的加拿大韦恩莱特军事基地（Canadian Forces Base Wainwright）。
国防部长麦根第（David McGuinty）随后表示：“我很遗憾地证实，基地发生的这起事件已造成人员死伤。”
卡尼与麦根第均未透露伤亡人数，也没有说明事发原因。

麦根第表示，加拿大王家骑警（Royal Canadian Mounted Police）已参与调查，并说目前情况仍在发展，而且相当敏感。

韦恩莱特基地是加拿大最繁忙的陆军训练基地之一，官兵在此进行实战演练与作战准备。基地内设有加拿大机动训练中心（Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre）及第3加拿大师训练中心。
