Recently, a community in Chongqing, Sichuan Province, when demolishing the outer wall, surprised to see a 13-meter-tall "headless Buddha", hidden under the residents of the building. It is reported that the Buddha has a thousand-year history and is a cliff Maitreya statue. 1950 or so, the head of the Buddha was destroyed, but the rest of the Buddha is intact.
According to a comprehensive land media report, a 13-meter-tall giant Buddha was inadvertently found hidden underneath the entire community building when the exterior wall of an old community on Nanping Street in Chongqing's Nanan District was being demolished.
The giant Buddha is in a seated position, but without a head, the neck is still well preserved, although covered in weeds and moss for many years, and there are traces of incense and candles burned in the side aisles and fortresses.

As for the giant Buddha's head where it went, Mr. Luo, a 60-year-old resident, said the stone statue already existed when he was a child, the Buddha originally had a head, and there was a meat bun on the head, which was later destroyed. Deng Granny said that the head pressed to repair, and then the construction was put on hold.
Some nearby merchants said that year in this business for seven years, that Buddha statue has always existed, tourists from all over the country to worship the stone statue, all said very spiritual, every day people worship God burn incense.
A variety of different claims, so that this headless giant Buddha added a sense of mystery. (Video screenshot)
The headless Buddha is a mystery. Currently, officials have confirmed that the head of the Buddha was destroyed around 1950, but the rest of the statue is intact, and the original Lei Zu Hall built in the Republic of China next to the Buddha was also demolished in 1987.
In June 2011, the publication of China's cultural relics atlas, Nanping headless Buddha, also known as "Nanping Buddha", for the Maitreya Buddha statue. Niche rectangular, open top, 13.3 meters high, 10.5 meters wide, 3.5 meters deep. The statue is 12 meters high, 6 meters wide at the shoulder, with a ruined head, hands holding a precious pearl, flat in front of the belly, sitting. According to the style of the statue, it is a relic of the Southern Song Dynasty.
Destroying the Buddha Statue was badly punished
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has preached "atheism" and denied "theism" since the beginning of its political establishment, especially during the Ten-Year Cultural Revolution launched by Mao Zedong, when the CCP eliminated what it considered the "Four Olds", i.e. "old ideas", "old culture", "old customs" and "old habits".
This included destroying religious places such as monasteries, Taoist temples and churches, smashing Buddha statues, burning Buddhist scriptures, and dragging monks out for criticism, even forcing them to sacrifice themselves to protect the religion.
During the Cultural Revolution, there were cases of evil retribution for destroying Buddha statues and temples all over China, and they have been passed down to this day.
Those who were brainwashed by the Party culture and did things that were disrespectful to the gods and Buddhas have been left to rue their lives, and there were many shocking examples of present-day retribution during the Cultural Revolution to warn the world. I. The story of the Buddha statue
In the Xingguo Temple in Boxing County, Binzhou City, Shandong Province, there is a famous stone Buddha statue, one zhang eight in height, which is revered by the locals as "zhang eight Buddha statue". The head of the stone statue you see now was actually reinstalled in recent decades.
As many local people know, there is a true story about this head.
Mao Zedong initiated the "Breaking the Four Olds" with the aim of destroying the 5,000-year-old traditional Chinese culture of worshiping the gods and believing in Buddhism, and replacing it with the Chinese Communist Party culture of fighting for heaven and earth. During the Cultural Revolution, countless temples and Buddha statues were smashed and destroyed, and the stone statue of the Buddha was not spared.
One day, the head of the local Cultural Revolution group had to get rid of the statue of the Buddha, and no one dared to stop him, because whoever dared to stop him might be arrested and used as a target to be criticized, and in some cases, his whole family would be involved. The team leader first ordered one person to shoot at the eyes of the Buddha, and later greeted a group of people to hit and smash the stone statue, but the Buddha did not move.
The team leader was so angry that he transferred a tractor from elsewhere, with a rope around the neck of the stone statue, driving the tractor to pull desperately, the result was that the head of the stone statue was pulled off and fell to the ground.
Soon after, the man who shot the stone Buddha's eyes with a gun was blinded by a stone while working.
And the team leader, soon after once sitting next to the driver's seat of the tractor, fell down, was behind the tractor's large wheels, from the neck, the body and head almost separated, killed on the spot.
However, the justice of God is clear retribution. Those who were brainwashed by the Party culture and did something disrespectful to the gods and Buddhists will never be able to repent for the rest of their lives, and during the Cultural Revolution there were many shocking examples of present-day retribution to warn the world. Second, the person who kowtowed to walk
In a small mountain village in the northern part of Shandong Province, a village with a majority of Liu surname also carried out the "Breaking the Four Olds" campaign, and countless ancient objects were destroyed. Only a small temple and the ancestral tablets in the family hall house were left untouched.
In the village, two bold young men, brainwashed by the atheistic propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party's tannoy, got carried away by the heat of the moment and said, "You dare not smash them, but we dare! We believe in the Communist Party, and we are not afraid of cattle, ghosts, snakes and gods!
As a result, the temple was smashed and the ancestral tablets were thrown into the small river in front of the village.
The one who returned home, his stomach suddenly hurt, rolling on the ground, there is the fear of losing his life. His mother, who had always believed in Buddhism, knew that her son was being punished. She was so distressed by her son's suffering that she risked being criticized, the mother knelt down from the door to the small temple and kowtowed to the Buddha for her son, so that his pain slowly subsided and finally disappeared completely.
Afterwards, the young man also understood that he had suffered retribution, believed in the existence of God and Buddha, regretted his ignorance, and from then on began to fear God and Buddha.
And the man sitting by the river to rest, the end is sad. When he had rested enough, just stand up, snap a heavy fall to the ground. After barely standing up again, but found that the two legs are bent, crossed together, can not be separated. His waist was also bent, causing his head to be very close to the ground.
From then on, the man spent the rest of his life walking and living in this position. In order to maintain stability, he had to hold a small matzah in each of his left and right hands, and when he walked, his head went forward little by little, plus his hands crossed forward at the same time, like the action of kowtowing to Buddha. People in the local area know him as "the man who kowtows and walks".
This man lived for more than seventy years, until a few years ago, he died, with his strange walking posture, to warn the world.
Those who were brainwashed by the Party culture and did something disrespectful to the gods and Buddhists will regret it all their lives, and during the Cultural Revolution, there were many shocking examples of present-day retribution to warn the world. Three, smashing the big words of Amitabha Buddha, Shandong Han was killed on the spot
At the border of Linqing City, Shandong Province and Hebei Province, there is a Zhangwei River, and the historically famous Linqing Relic Pagoda is located on the east bank of the river, which has lasted for hundreds of years. The stupa is 8 layers high, each layer of the tower has 8 sides and 8 corners, once each corner has a statue of Amitabha Buddha, each layer of each side has the words "Namo Amitabha Buddha".
Now there is a side of "Namo Amitabha Buddha" a few big words but only a little trace left, and this is the "broken four old" when a person named Wang Dezhong did.
Back then, Wang Dezhong, who worked in Linqing County and was in his 30s, was educated by the Chinese Communist Party's atheism and did not believe in heavenly retribution or in God and Buddha, and often led some people to destroy the statues and sutras on the stupa and did many bad things.
Once, when he looked up and saw the words "Namo Amitabha Buddha", he sent some youngsters to smash them down without thinking. The young people are afraid, he climbed up the ladder, pick up the hammer towards the words smashed over.
However, just smashed a few times, he fell headlong to the ground and was killed on the spot. This incident immediately spread to both sides of the Wei River, people said: "God and Buddha revealed, destroy the Buddha statue, smashing the Buddha's name, dare to disrespect God and Buddha, the present world is now rewarded."
After that, no one dared to violate the statue of Buddha and the stupa again.
Fourth, the destruction of the Buddha statue wife and children all crazy
There is a similar incident in Shandong, Gaomi formerly rejects Chenghe (today's Mishui Street Office) Shijiatun village, there was a temple before the Cultural Revolution, which has several statues of Buddha. At that time, people from Nanzhuang and Beikou, from ten miles and eight villages, went to burn incense and worship Buddha on every festival, which was very spiritual. However, during the period of "breaking the Four Olds", a militia company commander named Shi Zongkong disobeyed the old man and took the lead in destroying the Buddha statues.
Within a few years, his sensible wife went crazy for no apparent reason, and then his son also went crazy. After a few more years, his wife died, his son disappeared, and Shi Zongong also got a strange disease. After suffering a lot, he died in pain.
The locals who knew the inside story said, "This is retribution ah.
Five, Luohan statue thrown into the fire, get a strange disease blindness
Another incident happened in the town of Chengzi, Jiujiang County, Jiangxi Province, on the Yangtze River. There are three temples in the area: Yan Gong Temple, Niangniang Temple and Yue Lin Temple. When the "Four Olds" were broken, the town concentrated on smashing the Buddha statues and burning them on the riverside beach.
One person from the Zhu family of Daya Chen was particularly "daring", and that day he and another person carried a statue of Luohan and threw it into the fire. The statue of Luohan is very powerful, the eyes are particularly large, just thrown in, the statue of Luohan immediately popped up and sat, eyes seem to be staring at Zhu.
Zhu Mou shouted: "You do not obey? And stare at me!" Said and swung his fist at Lohan's eyes. A few days later, one of Zhu's eyes became ill and quickly sunken, and soon became blind.
Six, the destruction of the temple, smashing the temple to get "rabies"
Yuechi, Sichuan Province, there is an ancient temple called "Mingdeng Temple", the scale is huge, the temple has a giant carved statue (Buddha, Lohan, Bodhisattva), for ware, cultural relics, etc. countless. Every day, people from all directions come to worship incense.
During the "Four Olds" period, He Deming, the head of the township, was responsible for destroying the temple, and the temple was smashed beyond recognition, and all the offerings, relics and idols were destroyed and burned. In less than a week, He Deming was bitten by a wild dog on his way home and got "rabies".
Since there was no medical treatment available at the time, he was locked up in a small room. When the attack, he bit his fingers, toes to eat, will be able to bite their own body to get the place to tear the skin and blood, even furniture, beds, doors, etc. to bite, get covered in blood, and finally died in the tossing.
