周三凌晨时分，川普在推特转发了英国《每日邮报》一篇有关“川普盟友抨击麦康奈尔”的文章，并评论说：“米奇，（我获得了）7500万票，创下了现任总统的记录（超过很多）。太早放弃了。共和党必须最终学会战斗。人民很愤怒！”

选举人团周一完成了投票。次日，麦康奈尔在参议院新闻发布会上向拜登“祝贺当选”，并称选举人团的投票是“决定性的”。据Newsmax报导，在当天的会议上，他还要求共和党参议员不要试图在1月6日挑战选举人团的投票结果。

川普转发的《每日邮报》报导说，即将上任的国会女众议员玛乔丽·泰勒·格林（Marjorie Taylor Greene）在麦康奈尔讲话后发表推文说：“不愿为川普2020年压倒性胜利而战的每个‘共和党人’，都在支持中国共产党接管美国。”

川普团队大律师林·伍德（Lin Wood）也表示：“麦康奈尔不是爱国者，问他的妻子。麦康奈尔只想拥有权力、影响力和金钱。他愿意出卖美国以获得他想要的东西。麦康奈尔是美国爱国者的叛徒。”

麦康奈尔的妻子赵小兰是华裔，现任美国运输部长。她的家族经营船运生意。据《纽约时报》去年报导，赵小兰的父亲赵锡成和中共前党魁江泽民是同学，其船运业务主要集中在中国。

另外，赵小兰小妹赵安吉的丈夫吉姆·布雷耶（Jim Breyer）是脸书的主要投资人之一，曾在脸书任职多年。

On Tuesday, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) congratulated Biden on his "election" after the Electoral College voted on Monday (Dec. 14). The Trump camp slammed him as a "traitor," and President Trump himself retweeted the story and criticized him for "giving up too soon.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Trump retweeted a Daily Mail article about "Trump allies slam McConnell" and commented, "Mitch, (I got) 75 million votes, a record for a sitting president (by a lot). It's too soon to give up. The Republican Party must finally learn to fight. The people are angry!"

The Electoral College finished voting Monday. The following day, McConnell "congratulated Biden on his election" at a Senate press conference and called the Electoral College vote "decisive. At the meeting that day, he also asked Republican senators not to try to challenge the Electoral College vote on Jan. 6, according to Newsmax.

The Daily Mail, which Trump retweeted, reported that incoming Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted after McConnell's speech that "every 'Republican' who doesn't want to fight for a Trump 2020 landslide ', is supporting a Communist takeover of America by China."

Trump team barrister Lin Wood also said, "McConnell is not a patriot, ask his wife. McConnell only wants power, influence and money. He is willing to sell out America to get what he wants. McConnell is a traitor to American patriots."

McConnell's wife, Xiaolan Zhao, is of Chinese descent and is currently the U.S. Secretary of Transportation. Her family runs a shipping business. Zhao Xiaolan's father, Zhao Xicheng, went to school with former Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin, whose shipping business is focused on China, the New York Times reported last year.

In addition, Jim Breyer, the husband of Zhao's youngest sister, Angie Zhao, is one of Facebook's major investors, having served on the company for many years.
