Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Dec. 14 that China's Communist Party is the greatest threat to the American people and to the free world. And President Trump (Trump) has taken office, causing a major shift in U.S. policy toward China and building a global coalition to contain the Chinese Communist threat.

In an interview with Newsmax on Dec. 14 EST, Pompeo said that both U.S. political parties have succumbed to the Chinese Communist Party, and that Trump is the first U.S. president to make a shift in U.S. policy toward China and build alliances in democracies and free-market economies around the world to stop the Chinese Communist threat.

"Whether it's the work that's been done to reposition the world to understand the Chinese Communist threat, or the fact that we have now created tremendous peace and stability throughout the Middle East and have caused Iran to back off, the list of international successes in the first four years of this administration could be a long one." Pompeo said

President Trump's "America First" approach, he said, puts the American people and their security as the first priority. And the Chinese Communist Party's use of commerce to expand its influence and steal millions of American jobs poses a real threat to the American people.

In a speech at Georgia Tech on December 9, Pompeo said the Chinese Communist Party's goal is clear, as its General Secretary Xi Jinping has stated, to achieve complete control within China and expand its hegemonic influence overseas.

U.S. colleges and universities have become a major target for the CCP to achieve its ambitions, and Pompeo called on U.S. colleges and universities to cooperate with actions to meet these challenges. "Let's raise the banner of freedom, defend our schools and our security against the main threat of our time - the Chinese Communist Party."

Pompeo said in the interview that with 360,000 Chinese students now studying in the United States, "we care deeply about the Chinese people. We want them to succeed." "But we can't let them steal secrets from our leading research institutions, like Georgia Tech."

Pompeo said, "We will not allow the Confucius Institute to act in ways that are detrimental to the American people. These are the ways that President Trump has taken."

The Chinese Communist Party has not only infiltrated U.S. academia, but also highly infiltrated U.S. politics. Last week, news reports of a female Chinese Communist Party operative infiltrating U.S. Democratic politics through monetary and sexual bribery sparked a public outcry.

Democratic Rep. The Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA) was removed from the House Intelligence Committee after allegedly having an affair with the female Communist spy for years and being groomed by the Chinese Communist Party to rise to power. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) believes he should be kicked out of Congress.

Pompeo said that not only are Chinese Communist Party agents close to U.S. lawmakers and officials, but that this infiltration could extend to the executive branch as well, and that "they are trying to influence the way our elected officials and our candidates view China."

In July, the U.S. government forced the closure of the Chinese Consulate in Houston in what was seen as a major blow to Chinese Communist spying in the United States. Pompeo bluntly stated that the Chinese Communist Party was conducting espionage operations in what was supposed to be a diplomatic manner.

He also re-emphasized the CCP's lack of credibility, citing the CCP's crackdown on Hong Kong as another example of the CCP's broken promises.

"I fear that Hong Kong will turn into another communist city run by the Chinese [Communist Party], and that's too bad." Pompeo said, "It's another fact that you simply can't trust the Chinese Communist Party. You have to verify everything they [the Chinese Communist Party] claim."
