最高法院以7: 2的投票结果通过了这项命令。川普总统所任命的3名保守派大法官戈萨奇（Neil Gorsuch）、卡瓦诺（Brett Kavanaugh）和巴雷特（Amy Coney Barrett）均未支持德州的诉讼。

但是，保守派大法官阿利托（Samuel Alito）单独发表了一份声明，表示他本来已经同意了德州的诉讼要求，因为他认为最高法院有义务处理属于其“原始管辖权”（original jurisdiction）之内的任何案件。另一名保守派大法官托马斯（Clarence Thomas）也加入了他的声明。

周二，德州检察长帕克斯顿（Ken Paxton）向最高法院提起诉讼，指控上述4个摇摆州在本次大选中的选举程序违宪，损害了选举的安全和诚信，请求最高法院裁决这4个州当前的选举结果无效。

On Friday (Dec. 11), the U.S. Supreme Court dismissed a lawsuit in Texas v. 4 swing states over unconstitutional election procedures. The legal battle over fraud in the current election is suddenly facing a bigger challenge.

In a ruling order issued Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected Texas' claim, asserting that Texas lacked the legal standing to seek to overturn the election results in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin because the state had not shown a legitimate interest in intervening in how other states handled their own election issues.

The ruling states that Texas has not shown a "judicially discernible interest" in how elections are conducted in other states and that "all other pending motions are denied as moot.

The Supreme Court approved the order by a 7-2 vote. None of the three conservative justices appointed by President Trump, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett, supported the Texas lawsuit.

However, conservative Justice Samuel Alito issued a separate statement saying he would have granted Texas' request because he believed the Supreme Court was obligated to handle any case that fell within its "original jurisdiction. On Tuesday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court alleging that the election process in the four swing states was unconstitutional and compromised the safety and integrity of the election, asking the Supreme Court to invalidate the current election results in the four states.

As of Friday, 18 states have declared their support for the Texas lawsuit, and six of them have also filed motions with the Supreme Court to allow them to join as plaintiffs. President Trump has also intervened in the case. In addition, 126 members of Congress have expressed support for the lawsuit, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).
