CBS News senior reporter Catherine Herridge said U.S. Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe determined there was foreign government interference in the 2020 U.S. election.
Herridge said, "Ratcliffe is in charge of 17 intelligence units and has direct access to top-secret U.S. government intelligence. He told CBS News that foreign governments - China (Communist Party of China), Iran and Russia - interfered in the November 2020 U.S. election. He expects to release a report on this in January next year."
Regarding foreign government interference in the election, Christopher Krebs, the recently fired former director of the Department of Homeland Security's CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency), had denied the allegation by the Trump team, saying that "all votes in the United States are counted within the United States."
Former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell's Dec. 13 filing with the federal Supreme Court (click here to view) refers to the latest testimony - in which two legal experts alleged foreign interference in the 2020 election and that Dominion voting machines were connected to overseas national systems.
Powell said the two military intelligence analysts have signed sworn testimony in which they testified that the SSL certification from the dominionvoting.com website had been used multiple times in different countries, including Canada, Serbia and the United States.
In addition, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has confirmed that the upcoming report will include information about "threats posed by foreign governments to the 2020 U.S. elections.
Amanda Schoch, a spokeswoman for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, said the U.S. intelligence system has received reports since the election, and many departments have not yet completed their coordination efforts, and the director is working to ensure that the report is released as soon as possible.
Director of National Intelligence Ratcliffe announced Dec. 16 that he was notified by the intelligence agencies that he would not be able to submit an assessment of foreign government interference in the U.S. 2020 election by Dec. 18.
Dec. 18 is the 45th day after Election Day, Nov. 3. According to an executive order signed by President Trump in 2018 (click here to view), the Director of Intelligence is supposed to submit a report within 45 days of Election Day that confirms to the greatest extent possible whether a foreign government interfered in the election, as well as how, how, the participants and those who authorized it.
