Mark Morgan, former acting director of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), recently criticized that "with the stroke of a pen, President Biden has made this country less safe," and accused "this is pure politics over public safety.
According to the U.S. media Breitbart News (Breitbart News) on January 23, Morgan made these comments in an exclusive interview with the media. He noted that immediately after Biden took over the White House, he issued an executive order ending the Trump administration's Migrant Protection Program (MPP) and halting the construction of the border wall. Morgan confessed that Biden's move put American lives in danger.
Morgan said he believes Biden's move is purely putting politics over public safety. facts, data and analysis provided to the Biden administration by CBP show that the border wall requested by Trump has effectively reduced the number of Central American illegal immigrants entering the U.S. from Mexico and has enhanced the security of the U.S. border. But the Biden administration did not take the time to discuss the issues with experts from the Border Patrol and CBP, and issued the executive order quickly without discussing the immediate impact the executive order to end border wall construction would have. He lamented that Biden has reduced Americans' sense of security in just a few hours in office.
CBP reports that the number of Central American migrant families crossing into the U.S. from Mexico decreased by 92 percent from the peak of border migration in May 2019 to February 2020. Under President Trump's strategic guidance, there has been nine consecutive months of successful reductions in family migration from Central America's Northern Triangle countries.
However, just this past weekend, thousands of Honduran migrants forced their way across the Guatemalan border in an attempt to get to the United States after Biden took office. On January 17, a large number of Honduran migrants gathered in Vado Hondo, Guatemala, where they confronted local military personnel on guard and at one point clashed.

Morgan believes that the U.S.-Mexico border is facing a massive migrant crisis as a direct result of Biden's "open borders strategy.
"Don't listen to me," Morgan said, "listen to the migrants themselves and say, 'Biden told us we have 100 days to get to the U.S. border.
CBP is now preparing for a new surge of illegal immigration, the paper said.
Morgan also stressed that the issue of illegal immigration at the border is a matter of U.S. national security and sovereignty, and that the U.S. is now becoming insecure because of the impending influx of illegal immigrants, a situation that is "really frustrating.
